Meet Dezireé

Welcome. I am so glad you are here.

As a board certified Nurse Practitioner and member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, North American Menopause Society, and the Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, it is my passion to provide educated and evidence based medicine utilizing a holistic approach to wellness. I am certified by the Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy Academy in bioidentical hormones as well as in functional endocrine from the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M).

About me:

More than a decade ago, I chose to become a nurse practitioner. I chose this path as I knew I wanted to engage in meaningful relationships with patients, impact wellness, impact body awareness, and ultimately, impact longevity. I have enjoyed working in various areas, but my calling is integrative medicine. I have spent the last several years passionately studying functional and integrative approaches to medicine, hormonal balance, and the use of bio-identical hormones for men and women. What I have learned has changed my life and the way I practice forever. Integrative holistic care is better care. This led me to the dream of Synergy Holistic Wellness, a place where patients can feel safe and heard regarding their most sensitive concerns. This dream evolved from experience with the challenges in the allopathic medicine world that providers and patients face, and my strong desire to put more control in the hands of the patient and their healthcare team and not the insurance and pharmaceutical companies.

Like the journey of many of my patients, I have worked on re-balancing my own endocrine system from the impacts of pregnancies, breastfeeding, prolonged contraception, endocrine disrupting chemicals and compounds in my environment, and stress. As a stressed out mom of two young children, I am guilty of pushing my health to the side. Through knowledge regarding the functions of my own body, I was motivated to make changes to support living better in the world around me. I have learned to honor my body where it is at, honor the compensations that I may not like at times, and embrace all it does for me.

When I am not working, you can find me lost in reflection, planning remodels and renovation projects with my husband, hosting (or enjoying) my lovely lake-house in Lincoln, running around to and from my children’s activities, planning an adventure, or spending time outdoors.
